Overview

A Long Hole Where the Creek and Pond Elevate the Strategic Challenge

Plan & Play

This finishing hole is defined by a creek that cuts across the fairway. More than distance alone, it demands strategic course management and precise decision-making. The conventional strategy is to thread the tee shot between the bunkers on either side, then carry the creek with the second shot and position the ball short of the pond. Yet with countless ways to approach the hole depending on each player’s distance and ability, every golfer will be faced with a series of decisions right to the very end.

Tips

With the creek running prominently through the hole, longer hitters should aim to position their tee shot just short of the creek farther ahead. At the same time, keeping the ball in the fairway is essential to avoid the bunkers on either side. For the second shot, the ideal target is just short and to the right of the bunker visible in the center. On the third shot, the front bunker presents a particularly difficult challenge, so the preferred line is to approach from the right side of the green with enough distance to reach the target comfortably. The green is large and can leave you with lengthy putts, so focus carefully on controlling your distance.
