The Signature Hole

An aesthetic of dignity and refinement, supported by history.
Gently embracing the spirit of challenge held by golfers.

Clad in the oldest tradition and elegance of Saga Prefecture,
this prestigious golf course gracefully accepts even admiring gazes.
From the fairway, one looks out upon the cityscape of Karatsu, shaped by human hands, and the Tenzan mountain range, created by nature.
In this place where time and space, people and nature intersect,
a single white light stretches upward into the blue sky.

Overview

A straight “horseback ridge” par-4.

Plan & Play

A straight ridgeback hole. Located on the IN course, it offers a magnificent view overlooking Karatsu city, Karatsu Castle, Nijinomatsubara, as well as Karatsu Bay and the Tenzan mountain range. Keeping the ball on the fairway is key for the first shot. For the second shot, it is best to lay up short and set up a decisive third shot. While savoring the one-of-a-kind breathtaking scenery, enjoy an open and liberating round to your heart’s content.

Tips

The tee shot may appear wide, but since the fairway forms a ridge, balls tend to roll easily into the rough on either side, so take care. Aim for the center of the fairway. In particular, the rough on the right dips significantly further ahead, making the second shot an uphill lie and increasing the difficulty. For the second shot, with the green surrounded by bunkers, the key is to aim for the center to get on. Although the green appears small and simple with a receiving slope, the back area has more slope, so pay close attention to the line and distance control.
